Chef/Cook with Barista Service - Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Nerang

Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Nerang is a new purpose built 114 place premium early learning centre. We are seeking an experienced chef/cook who is passionate about preparing fresh and wholesome meals for children in our new purpose built and fully equipped kitchen.
 
 
This is a permanent part time role for 15 hours per week at this stage with the potential to extend. The role is for immediate commencement. 
 
 
The successful applicant will;
 
  • Have experience and passion for cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods that are suitable for children aged 4months to 6 years; 
  • Have completed relevant vocational qualifications in commercial cookery, valid employment blue card and have experience working in a childcare kitchen environment;
  • Be experienced in developing a rotating menu for children, including those with allergy and intolerance requirements; 
  • Be reliable, positive and well organised person;
  • Have good time management skills and be confident managing a kitchen;
  • Provide a barista service to families, on the job training will be provided; 
  • Enjoy working with families, colleagues and children.


You will be responsible for;
 
 
  • Preparing for a nutritious and on time breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for babies and children each day, including the preparation of purees and special dietary meals;
  • Menu planning, in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines;
  • Working in line with budgets and local suppliers;
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements;
  • Providing a barista service to families, training will be provided.
