Site Reliability Engineer

A Fintech organization in Melbourne are undergoing a substantial period of growth across the globe at present, which in turn has led to a need to add an SRE capability to their engineering team. We're looking for someone to come in and drive the SRE practice for the organization. This will involve working with the dev & devops teams to ensure the availability of the production environment, as well as helping develop capabilities around logging, operational monitoring, anomaly detection, alerting and incident management.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Monitor and report on the availability and performance of the company's platform
  • Analyse logs, metrics, and monitors to perform accurate root cause analysis
  • Respond to platform availability incidents
  • Develop monitoring and alerting to detect symptoms and prevent outages.
  • Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack.
  • Manage the provisioning, deployment and monitoring of a highly available, scalable platform
  • Collaborate with the development team to improve processes and tools
  • Participate in the evaluation and integration of new technologies and best practices


Required Experience:

  • Professional experience with a range of AWS technologies (ECS Fargate, VPC, EBS, S3, Route53, IAM, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, Cloudwatch etc..)
  • Infrastructure as Code experience
  • Some scripting languages would be nice
  • Knowledge of web, security, and networking protocols, load-balancing
  • Exposure to PCI-DSS requirements would be a nice to have
